Edge Futbol Club was founded in 2016 when two lifelong soccer players, Sheri Branum and Nico Samaniego started the club in Huron, Ohio. Beginning first with a small indoor facility, the club began to grow, and competed in the Lorain County Soccer League in 2017.  Since then the club has climbed the league ladder and have reached the Cleveland Alliance Soccer League, playing against clubs that started in 1990’s.

EDGE FC strives to create an environment where our players develop a love of the game of soccer that fosters lifelong participation in the game.  To achieve this goal, we develop an environment where we teach a creative, attacking, and possession-style soccer built on a foundation of strong technical skills.

In adopting this style of soccer, we foster an environment free from the “FEAR OF FAILURE”, where our players can explore and be creative without the fear of making mistakes. We believe that such an environment, with no limitations is where our players can grow the most and realize their potential both as players and people. The motivation to play attractive soccer must be greater than the fear of losing. Ultimately, we want each player to become the best version of themselves on and off the field.

In 2019, HCYSC embarked on a transformative journey that would redefine its role in the community. Recognizing the need to expand and diversify soccer opportunities for the youth in Huron County, the club took a bold step by acquiring EDGE Futbol Club. This strategic move marked a pivotal moment in HCYSC's history, symbolizing its dedication to enhancing the soccer landscape for the next generation.

The acquisition allowed HCYSC to offer a broader range of programs, coaching resources, and developmental pathways for players of all ages and skill levels. With an increased focus on player development, the club aimed to not only produce skilled players but also to create a soccer culture that resonated with the community's values.
